The shape of the guard reduces the risk of unpleasant levering or snagging off-road, whether caused by branches, scree or rocks. Openings ensure that water collected after river crossings can drain away freely. The angled deflector plates divert stones or foreign objects thrown up by the front wheel in such a way that the risk of damage to the headers and engine is significantly reduced.
