PROVEN IN RACING AND OFF-ROAD USE: WUNDERLICH AXLE PROTECTION PADS DOUBLESHOCK

In the event of the motorcycle tipping over or in the case of a fall, the axle protection pads ensure that the swing arm, wheel axle, sprocket and brake system are effectively protected against damage.

The protection pads space these components away during point or sliding contact with the ground or road surface, thereby reducing or preventing costly damage to the motorcycle. In addition to the choice of material, we have constructively integrated and tested two essential, specific properties in racing: damping and friction behaviour during the sliding phase.

Damping: The first positive property to mention is damping, which can fully or partially absorb and take up part of the impact energy in the event of sudden force effects.

The second positive property concerns the friction behaviour of the axle protection pad. Thanks to the special component geometry, the effective contact or sliding surface increases progressively as the load increases. As a result, the protection pad initially offers comparatively low friction during light contact, while more energy is dissipated during prolonged sliding contact with the road surface. This can help reduce both the duration of the sliding phase and the motorcycle’s sliding distance.
